How to Become More Dangerous: 30 Dangerous Ideas For Men Book Review
Of all my accomplishments over the past few years:
Launching this blog,
Raising hell with spiteful, post-wall feminists,
Leaving my corporate job to be fully self-employed,
Starting a coaching practice to support men all over the world,
the one achievement I am most proud of is publishing my first book, 30 Dangerous Ideas For Men In Their 30s, now available on Amazon Kindle.
The book was originally born as a blog post here on Solitary Beast.
My only brother had recently celebrated his 30th birthday.
Instead of greeting the occasion with joy and pride, I felt that he seemed shrouded by uncertainty about the new chapter of his life.
I had experienced similar feelings in the lead up to my 30th birthday, and I knew many other men would be experiencing the same conflicted emotions.
The post, and subsequent book, is meant to guide men through this transformative decade, from young adult, to full fledged adult man.
30 Is A Milestone
While age 30 is well past puberty, and more than 10 years after the age of legal majority in the United States, it still seems like a defining point in a man’s life.
In our modern era of seemingly endless adolescence, 30 is a number that commands respect, as the time when a man should “get his shit together”, if he hasn’t already.
For men who feel trepidation, instead of motivation, at the dawn of the new decade of their lives,
as well as any man seeking to improve himself, in ways he never previously considered,
this book serves as a both a map, and a compass for the journey.
48 Laws of Modern Power
The intention of 30 Dangerous Ideas For Men was to create a work as impactful and actionable as Robert Greene’s seminal 48 Laws of Power, but with specific information for Millennial men, living in the modern, digital era.
I devoured Greene’s work, listening to it over and over on Audible.
I also bought a physical copy, and highlighted, underlined, and scribbled notes on every page.
While 48 Laws contained masterful lessons on influencing (manipulating) people and situations, the lessons are based on examples from history, from ancient Rome, to dynastic China, to the French court of Louis XVI.
The information was valuable, but I found it challenging to apply the lessons to my daily life as a modern man.
I’m confident that many men all over the world turned to Greene’s famous book for answers, and felt the same sense of bewilderment.
Change Your Mindset
Right out of the gate, 30 Dangerous Ideas For Men smashes through a common misconception.
The first chapter, titled “Thirty Is Young, For A Man”, presents the idea that a man’s prime does not begin for five years after his 30th birthday.
The chapter explains,
“A man’s most attractive traits are tied to his masculinity: experience, confidence, maturity, financial success.
All those qualities are only achieved over time, with age.
At 30, a man is just getting on the board in life.
He’s still preparing for life at his 20 year peak age of mid-30s to mid- 50s.”

The book also issues challenges:
To create an additional stream of income outside your job,
Generate passive income and social influence through creating content,
Master key social skills that make men instantly likeable to men, and attractive to women
Use your phone to make you better, not just stream dirty websites
The book contains ideas that will help men level up in all areas of their lives.
If you’re ready to live life “firing on all cylinders”, making huge gains in your body, racking up money with a business outside your typical 9 to 5, and becoming more attractive, more productive, and more DANGEROUS- 30 Dangerous Ideas For Men is the perfect book for you.
Challenge Yourself
We’re only a few days into this fresh, new year.
If you created a list of resolutions, are you upholding your commitments to yourself?
Only 5 days down, many of us have already fallen short on some of the goals we intended to do “every day”. I’ll admit that I have, and it’s ok.
I’m thankful that I have plenty of time left on the clock to reset, adjust, and take another run at it.
Don’t get discouraged if you haven’t started your resolution, or already overslept when you planned to wake up early, or already splurged on pizza and beer when you’re supposed to be eating clean.
Maybe you don’t even have ideas of where to start on your self-improvement journey.
30 Dangerous Ideas For Men is the spark that can ignite the fire under you, to blast through limitations this year, and any others.
