Why You Need A Coach

If you are ready to level up, in any area of your life, you must accept that you don’t know everything.

Modern life is so multi-faceted, there’s no way one person can be the expert in every area of his life. If you’re killing it in your business, maybe your body isn’t up to par. If your body looks great, it’s possible that your finances or relationships are lacking. There’s always something.

Coaching can take many forms, depending on your needs.

Men who struggle with budgeting should seek a personal finance mentor.

If your dog is driving you nuts, find a qualified dog trainer to step in and help you.

If your business is floundering, you need a sales trainer.

Whatever it is, identify an area where you are not performing up to your standards, and get help.

You may consider yourself smart, and may have previously been successful in other endeavors in your life.

However, if you want to advance to new heights, as quickly as possible, you will have to tread a path with fewest missteps. Mistakes can waste precious money, and priceless time. If you want to move forward as efficiently as possible, take the advice of a coach.

By working with a coach, or mentor, you leverage his experience and fold it into your own. He will have already achieved the feat you aspire to. A good coach is a lamp in the darkness. Sure, you could feel around on your own and find your way out, but imagine the time and energy you will waste.

Coaching vs. the Internet

Yes, the internet, books, blogs like this one, are important tools on your journey.

Let me say now that I have tremendous respect for you. Just being here, reading these words, puts you ahead of most people, who never think about developing themselves to be better, achieve their goals, or pursue their highest ideals.

You can learn valuable lessons from books and the internet. I certainly have. Check out my post “Best Quotes From All the Books I Read in 2020”.

In that post, I wrote

“That’s the amazing thing about books. They allow you to get inside the mind of millionaires, celebrities, philosophers: some of the greatest and smartest men that ever lived.”

You can and should learn from the writings of great men. However, if you want to see MASSIVE improvement, quickly, you need to get under the instruction of a knowledgeable coach.

A coach, who’s been where you are, and built the success you desire, can look into your process from a bird’s eye view. He is disassociated and impartial, in a way that you are likely not able to be. He can offer insights that you may not have considered, motivate you when your energy wanes, and provide accountability to keep you on track.

An Investment

One aspect that stops men in their tracks from hiring a coach, is the price tag. Good coaches are not cheap. They are highly successful men in their own right, and highly success men’s time is limited, and therefore, expensive.

It’s daunting to stare at 3 or 4 figure price tag (or higher!), for a resource you’re not even convinced you need.

The biggest part of this puzzle is dropping your ego, and looking at the price of coaching in a different way.

It’s not about the dollar amount.

The price of a coach is an investment that will yield rewards for the rest of your life. Just ONE piece of advice that gets you to your goal quicker is worth the cost, in savings of time alone, not to mention what you could gain.

If you’re honest with yourself, you’ve thrown away thousands of dollars in your lifetime on useless crap that didn’t provide any long term benefit: Drinks that you pissed away, cheaply made clothes that you wore only a few times, etc.

Think about it like this, as Wes Watson goaded,

“Isn’t your fucking TIME worth more than hiring someone, dropping your ego, and getting the hook-up?”

If You Can’t Afford A Coach

What if you don’t have the money to hire a coach? As I already mentioned, a good coach isn’t cheap, but I believe it’s a necessity if you really want to reach the next level in your life or business.

Many successful people credit all their success to the instruction of a knowledgeable coach, from athletes such as Mike Tyson with his legendary coach Cus D’amato, to Michael Jordan and Phil Jackson.

Outside of sports, celebrity figures such as President Bill Clinton, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Tim Ferris have worked with coach Tony Robbins to have breakthroughs in the struggles they faced in life.

Can you afford NOT to work with a coach?

If you want to be great, make a commitment to yourself that you will find the resources to hire a coach to guide you forward in your pursuit of your highest goals.

If you’re focused on your body, hire a personal trainer, nutritionist, or both.

If you intend to grow your business, work with an entrepreneur coach.

It’s worth the money.

In Conclusion

Humble yourself and accept that you don’t know everything.

Invest in your highest self by hiring a coach that can get you to your end result quicker.

Can you put a price on realizing your highest potential?
